Our new place is AWESOME!!!
We are almost all moved into to the new place. It is so freakin' great. Jon said, and rightly so, "It's like being on vacation!". Some added features I forgot to mention are vaulted ceilings in the living room and master bedroom, ceiling fans in three rooms, a doorbell, and a washer and dryer. The first night we moved in, I did about 80 loads of laundry. It was so cool!
Unfortunately, the cable people suck and were unable to correctly hook up our internet and cable, so I can't post pictures yet. I'm only able to write this on a "break" from work, so I really can't bust out with my camera and start uploading photos, too. The typing at least sounds like I'm working. Also interesting to note about the cable people, they were able to un-hook the cable from the old house and supposedly hook up the cable in the new house with a day's notice, on the weekend even! Yet, when we asked them to fix the problem yesterday, they told us no one would be able to come out until Thursday!?! Now I will miss Beauty and the Geek! Oh, and it will probably cost us $50, for them to fix it. Stupid Cox! No, really that's the name of the cable company. I guess we should have considered ourselves warned. On the plus side, we are considering telling Cox where they can put their non-functioning cable internet and super expensive cable in favor of a DSL line and a satellite dish. I'm really excited by the prospect of cable, because I love TV and for the past 3 years, I have had to make do with 10 channels. That's really not enough!
In other news, in two hours, I get to find out if I need to report to jury duty or not. I have to say, when I got the summons in my mail, I was really excited. I imagined all sorts of cool cases I would get to judge, thought spending a day in downtown Phoenix would be cool, and Carrie from Sex and the City was summoned, and I like to do some things like she does. Then I opened it. Those jerks want me to go to some court in some podunk town 50 miles away from where I live! Seriously, there are 2 other courts within 10 minutes from my house! I have a 13 year old car with 190,000 miles and NO air-conditioning, and they want me to drive in rush hour both ways, which should take about 2 hours both ways in 111 degree heat! What the heck!?! At least I'll get out of work. And I get paid 37 cents per mile. That hardly seems worth it! Hopefully it will be some high profile celebrity case (several D list celebs live here... Alice Cooper, Stevie Nicks, Mike Tyson) and I'll just have to live in Surprise (that's the name of the town. Could Arizona have weirder names for things?) for a month and get paid for working and free food! Except then I would miss my awesome new place. And my cats. And Jon. OK, I changed my mind. Hopefully this case will settle outside of court.
Well, I should get back to real work now. Wish me luck on the jury duty!
