I Have a Backpack! Its Name is Scotch.
Hi, everybody! I just wanted to do a quick update before my fabulous 3 day weekend!!! I can't wait! Most of it will be spent sleeping and doing homework, but I'm glad I won't have to answer questions or perform monkey tasks for 3 whole days! Hopefully I'll also be able to squeeze in a few design shows and some tea party invitations, which I swear will one day happen.
I had my 2nd week of interior design classes, and it appears that Jon was right, my first teacher (Into to Interior Design) must have been trying to weed useless people out, because she was a completely different person this week! I'm also kind of hoping this abrupt change in attitude doesn't mean that she is actually crazy. She did feel compelled to mention yet again (see post below), that she is a grad student at ASU from Manhattan and/or New Jersey, but she gave out a ton of good information as well, such as where design internships are posted. Her lecture was soooo much more organized than last time and the whole class got involved in discussions. I also really like the 2 other girls who sit at my table. They are fun, funny, and nice. As expected, my second class was great, too. I also realized that I am looooong overdue for a new pair of glasses since while we were looking at huge overhead slides of rooms, the rest of the class was admiring things like the lines on the floor boards and ceilings, and I had no idea what they were talking about. (No, Randy, I could see the floors, just not the lines in them! :) )
I can't remember if I've mentioned this here or not, but you simply must try Taco Bell's limited time only crunch wrap supreme. Hurry, because I think they are getting ready to take them away. They removed all the signage about them at my local Taco Bell, but they gave me one for lunch today anyway. Woo-hoo!
One of Jon's old students has a new online magazine called sixteentwentytwo, and she interviewed him for the very first issue as the featured artist. You can read that article here.

My heart goes out to everyone involved in hurricane Katrina. I can't quite wrap my mind around the situation because no one here really seems to care or be upset about it. I'm hoping it just seems like that because I haven't had time to watch TV since the storm hit. I just keep thinking about people's pets. :(
Oh, if you are wondering about the title of this post... I used to babysit a little girl who talked like a 67 year old smoker who loved her whiskey. She had two identical beige teddy bears. One day I asked her what the one on the left was named. "Scotch," she croaked. Then I asked what the one on the right was named, "Scotch," she croaked again. Then I said, "I thought that one was Scotch". "No," she replied. "That's Scotch!". After a few more go rounds, I asked her how she told them apart. She gave me a look like I was seriously the stupidest person she had ever had the displeasure of meeting and said exasperatedly, scratchily, and disdainfully, "Scotch has a backpack!" I kid you not, they both had identical red backpacks... just like the one I carry now!
On that happy note, have a great 3 day weekend!
