No, I'm Not Dead... Just Boring.
It's been a very long time because I really don't have anything too exciting to report, so in order to fill you in on the latest events quickly, I'll give you a list in no particular order.
- I have one week of school left, so I will hopefully have more time to blog. Both classes lasted about 8 weeks too long, however the class that I really don't like has progressively gotten worse. Here's why... these classes were 17 weeks long. During the 1st 14 weeks of the bad class, we were given a total of 3 projects. During the last 3 weeks of class, we were assigned 3 more projects! How does that even out? All of the projects take about the same amount of time to complete, so it's not like the teacher gave out 3 quick assignments now. I will be sooo happy in 6 more days. Except that...
- Jon is going to Chicago next week, so not only will I miss him and be kind of bored a lot (hopefully more time for blogging!), I also have to figure out how to get to and from work for 3 days. Which means that...
- Tomorrow Jon is going to attempt to teach me how to ride his scooter because that can be parked at the bike rack for free, sort of. You can park a 50 cc (I don't know what that means, other than it has something to do with engine power) scooter for free, but Jon's, I believe, is 150 cc. Hopefully no one will check too carefully. I am pretty excited, and I'll let you know how it goes. Hmmm, no creative segway here so...
- Last weekend Jon and I went to a great greasy Chinese restaurant in downtown Phoenix called Sing High. I looked for a webpage, but unsurprisingly I couldn't find one. It was fun to do something in a "city". We even got to experience the true gritty side of a "city", when two semi-scary drunk homeless guys "helpfully" tried to tell us that it was perfectly fine to block in another car. We declined their "help" and circled the restaurant's lot again, when as luck would have it, a car was leaving! We waited for the car to pull out with our blinker on. As we began to pull forward towards the parking spot, one of the drunk guys "helpfully" motioned to the spot for us, because we most likely would have passed right by it without his "help". Thanks, drunk guy! No, we don't have any money. Speaking of restaurants...
- On Saturday (last week still) Jon and I went with my newbestfriend Kim and her fiance Eric, to this super great New Mexican style restaurant called Blue Adobe Grille in Mesa. I highly recommend the Spooning Rellenos. After that, we all decided to check out another Mexican restaurant called Mucho Gusto Taqueria (once again no website) that had way cool margaritas, such as hibiscus, tamarind, and the one that Kim and I really wanted but they were out of, fire-roasted strawberry. The drinks and service were very good, and it had literally the nicest restaurant/ bar bathroom I have ever been it, but for some reason on a Saturday night, including the four of us and our waiter/ bartender there were no more than 10 people in the whole place. I hope it stays around long enough for me to have a fire roasted drink!
- As a cap to the weekend, Kim and I went to the downtown Tempe Festival of the Arts street fair on Sunday. All of downtown Tempe's main streets were filled with people, tents, and some good, bad, and ugly artwork. It was lots of fun even though we ran out of time to go to the happiest place on earth.
Well, after reading all of that I guess I'm not too boring, just too busy. Jon and I are expecting some awesome T-shirts to come to us in the mail, hopefully on Monday or Tuesday, so I will blog about those. I will also be asking advice on two earth shaking decisions in my life. Hint: they have to do with hair and T.V., so you know it's super important.
